Founded in Utica, New York, the company begins by offering oil delivery and furnace repairs. Pictured are founder Fred F. Collis and his wife, Isabel. Isabel played an essential role in the business by managing bookkeeping and day-to-day operations.
1940’s: One of the company’s first delivery trucks reflects the early days of oil delivery and furnace and pop heater repairs throughout the local community.
1960’s: Founder Fred F. Collis is pictured with two of his sons, Jim and John, along with his grandson, Freddy. Jim and John continue to play active roles in leading the company.
1972: Fred F. Collis & Sons moves from the Elm Street backyard to a dedicated location on Oswego Street in Utica, New York. This milestone marks a period of significant growth and expanded service offerings.
1996: The company moves to Commercial Drive in Yorkville, New York. This location remains the company’s headquarters today and offers the many home comfort services that you know and trust.
2002: An additional office opens on Erie Boulevard in Rome, New York to expand the service area. While this office is not currently in operation, Fred F. Collis & Sons continues to proudly serve the Rome community.
2021: Fred F. Collis & Sons expands its service area once again with the opening of a new office in Syracuse, New York located at 4586 Nixon Park Drive.
2023: Our Fred F. Collis & Sons Syracuse team moves to a new and improved office, allowing us to offer expanded services and support – including the addition of an experienced plumbing team!
Today: Fred F. Collis & Sons is proud to celebrate 90 years of serving our community! We remain a family-owned and operated company built on a legacy of trust and quality. Pictured left to right are co-owners John, David, and Paul Collis, who represent the third-generation of the Collis family to lead the company. They proudly carry on their grandfather’s legacy of exceptional service and quality.
